Special Educational Needs

All Greenwich maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with Special Educational Need(s) being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible; where families want this to happen.

At Henwick the Inclusion Team comprises of:

Kasia Fowle (SENCO)

Terri Thompson (Assistant SENCO)

Mark Taylor (Nurture and Behaviour Lead)

Sunni Billing (Community Liaison Officer)

The Inclusion team work closely with outside agencies to ensure the best provision for our pupils. This includes services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychology, Community Paediatrics, Family and Adolescent Support Service (FaAAS), ASD Outreach, STEPs Literacy and Mathematics Support, School Health Team and a counsellor to work with us on a weekly basis to support the emotional well-being of our pupils.
